Ravelry

I got into Ravelry last week so I am slowly learning but it has bee so easy so far. It is a site still in progress but it is very user friendly! I have joined several groups and I am not real sure how to chat it up yet but I am having fun in it for sure!
Man it has really turned cold suddenly but it is a nice change from the HOT HOT we have been having, November it is time for some chill!
some distressing news at work today, we are outgrowing our building so bad that they are moving my department to the warehouse here in TN it is only about 10 minutes from where we are now so it isn't like they are moving across the state or anything but the bad part is they are leaving me at Support Services with the Purchasing, which is fine by me I don't think I'd like that extra drive, it is just going to be different with my bosses and co-worker(best friend) on one side of town and me on the other...Computers, have their advantages and disadvantages that is for sure! But they have been building another building for 3 years now maybe they really will now..I hate Change!

November...

I am finally in Ravelry.com . So far I haven't really had much time to play in there but I really like what I have found so far. There is a Central(Middle) TN group, maybe we can all get together and have a knitting group occasionally. I am sneaking this in at work, slow Monday morning but I am sure that is subject to change quickly. One little phone call or email and all of the quiet can be huge and hectic!!!
Great Weekend, yesterday was spent Winterizing at the Spring. Saturday was a day of Shopping and even attended a Fall Festival at a local church, great gifts ideas and some purchasing done there.
Well they say the cold is about to be upon us so Sweater Weather here we come, high tomorrow 50...brrrrr today high 74 what a difference!!
Smooches make it a great day!

July, August, September, Finally October

Whew talk about a long time since I posted,
we have been really busy, end of July we spent two weeks in Anchorage Alaska, it was wonderful, I could live there till winter anyway, weather was picture perfect, the things we did are unforgetable, it was a trip I totally enjoyed every minute of, good thing too cause when we returned I had to have roator cuff surgery on my left shoulder and man that was not pleasant!! so I have totally been out of pocket and not a happy person! September I turned 54, not too bad then last week I started knitting again, so back to dishcloths, and scarfs, started a bookmark with yarn, tiny but I think I like it.

well now I'm caught up again so I'll try to update more often! I had even forgotten how to sign in!!

Long Time no Blog

Well it has been a while, I evidently have been awfully busy since April and I guess I have, it's summer time, swimming, gardening, working, knitting, planning for my trip to Alaska, yeah that's right Alaska...

My SIL lives in Anchorage and I have wanted to go since I married her brother 30 odd years ago. We are finally going thanks to her generosity. We are staying 11 days total...Man I can hardly wait, I had a very bad year last year and this one wasn't too great losing my Mother so I am soooo looking forward to this trip..11 days away from WORK, HOME, GOATS, People I know!!!! Whew, to go to a land that is as far away from TN as I can get without leaving the good old USA.

I have a beautiful niece who bought a house last year, no it was the year before, and I thought I'd never see it. Well I will get to see her, her boyfriend who is precious too Bryan. and of course we can't forget Betty's LULU!!

my husband who NEVER gets excited about doing ANYTHING i really excited about this trip, Everyone we have talked to that has been to Alaska Loves it, they say it's like stepping back in time about 30 years.

Well need to get back off and do some more planning about what I'll take to wear, and what I will take to knit or crochet or both!!

Happy Easter

Sunday will be Easter so since I blog so infrequently I thought I'd better say it now. I am currently knitting a prayer shawl in Lion Brand Coverd Bridge Red in honor of my Mother, I chose the red since she died the day after Valentine's Day. It is turning out beautiful and since I am knitting it on size 13 needles it is going really fast, plus I have been taking it to work and actually taking a break, well all but yesterday. It was a Monday from Hell, I got there around 7:15 and left at 5:30 then on my way home there had been a wreck and traffic was backed up for a couple of miles inching along, I did a U and took a back road (LONG WAY) home, but it was better than sitting forever! By the time I got home it was almost 7:00pm and I usually get here around 5:30 so I had a long delay, but once I got home Bobby had already feed the goats, and we had cooked a lot Sunday so no cooking anyway, I went to bed early tho!!

Today will be a better day, gotta go get ready for work...oh a new email friend from one of my Yahoo Groups I am in sent the cutest booklet on Tin Can Hats, think I'll do a big straw one with my Mich Ultra cans, won't that be cute at the "Spring" this summer!!

Make it a Great Day!!

long overdue blog

well my Mother's battle is finally over, she passed away so peacefully on Feb 15th. she loved snow like I do and it snowed the morning we buried her. Everyone was there with the exception of one grandson, her only grandson left and he chose not to come, His son was heartbroken and he could not even get above himself to show up for his only grandmother's funeral. His cross to bear, I actually was surprised, my Mother worshiped him and this was how he chose to repay her unconditional love.

I took last week off and my wonderful SIL from Anchorage was here, we had a ball, she kept me on the go so I couldn't think!! it was a wonderful time, just fun and carefree week, I really needed that, I am sure I will be lost for a while, I won't be trekking to the Nursing home, twice daily before and after work. I spent tonight after work by catching up on emails.

At work today I got lots of cards, a plant some candles and tons of hugs and kisses, it is so nice to work with great people. I even got some homemade pimento cheese, a loaf of bread, chips and cokes, and paper plates and napkins from a friend who I had done the same for when her Mother died. She and I both went with bright colors and she got a darling card, not a sympathy card a fun card. We are so alike!!

well gotta run, just had to let ya'll know my precious Mother's ordeal is over and she is now in Heaven with my family who have gone ahead of her! I hope my brother is happy, he has his Mother back...

Exciting and Fun Family Day

My great niece, (I was there when she was born) is having her 1st baby in May so her aunts on her dad's side of the family and some others gave her a wonderful brunch shower today, so much fun, my brother who passed away a couple of years ago was her grandfather, my SIL and two nieces from GA was there today along with their sister( the new granma to be) both of her girls and lots of their extended families, 7 babies under 6 months old and their mommies and granma's. Lots and lots of fun and wonderful, Cade is going ot have everything he could possibly ever want.
the booties and bonnet to match I had knitted and a darling cap I had crocheted were a big hit along with two shawls my daughter had made on looms and I had crocheted edges. My sister candle wicked all these little farm animals on muslin and made a quilt out of it, Adorable even tho my sister wasn't happy with her binding, I thought it was fine and everyone had a fit over it.

well need to get back to the afghan I am making with homespun. Monday found out the Hancock's in my town was closing, I am sick, I love their yarn and beads!! so gotta stock up before May and they close!!!

how southern are you??

http://www.gotoquiz.com/

well I took this quiz I copied off another site, it is the one that says what American Accent do you have, whew mine was 97 % southern, I always knew it was country and southern so I wasn't surprised.

well we enjoyed Mother's 90th birthday yesterday. What a surprise it was to still have her after all she has been thru since last July. the Hospice nurse still says it is only a matter of time, her heart is so weak they have to look at her to make sure she is even breathing, she is one strong willed lady! or as my daughter affectionately says "Stubborn Old Woman". I am content now tho since she reached the 90 mark, the Good Lord can take her anytime now, I will be lost for a while since I go mornings before I go to work and nights before I go home, sometimes I even come home and eat and go back with my knitting and just sit with her if she is having a really bad day, she now has immense pain in her lower back, they aren't sure why, they have started the morphine based compound that they give every hour if needed into her mouth, I ask them to keep it light till we got thru yesterday. It seemed to be almost too much excitement for her but, shy of my son, his wife , my teenage nephew and two great nieces, her family shared the day together for a couple of hours, my grandson's mother brought him and stayed as well, I was so thankful I could spend the time with him as well. I pray daily my son will come around to his senses but it is his choice not to be a part of this family not mine and I have done the best of my ability to raise two children to have their own minds and make their own desicions.

This morning we woke up to a small snowfall, about 1 1/2 -2 inches. Bobby had to go to work so I need to get busy and clean some while he is gone.

Have a wonderful Super Bowl day, I am going to watch both Knitty Gritty and GO Precious Peyton's SuperBowl back and forth.

Knitting along

hello people, it's been a while huh? Mother is about the same, hard to believe we made it thru the holidays, 4 months ago we would never have believed she'd be this strong a lady! around Christmas they changed some of her meds, and now she is able to eat, has even gained 5 lbs since Christmas. She will be 90 on the 3rd of Feb!
My oldest turned 37 yesterday, she was teased badly about being "almost" 40. her husband is 2 years younger and he was unmerciful about her being so much older than him..ha.
I have finished several scarfs and am now working on a afghan made of knitted squares from Lion website. it is made of homespun, that stuff is just so soft, then you just whip stitch the squares together and whipstitch around the entire thing, I think tho I may crochet a lacy edge around, depends on how much thread is left over after I get all the squares done. I just started Sunday and am almost half thru with 2nd square. Between working and going to the nursing home I think that is pretty quick.
I am enjoying all my yahoo groups, Crochet one I like finally moved to yahoo and the digests are much better, congrats Kim on being named editor to Interweave Crochet Mag...and as always I love reading BusyKnitting.
my great niece is having her 1st baby and I gave her a blanket I had crocheted for Christmas, I finished booties and am working on the hat to match for her shower in a couple of weeks, I have another hat done I crocheted but I am afraid it will be too tiny, not having someone to fit to isn't as easy as it looks on the net...it's been 10 years since my darling grandson Daniel was a baby and I don't remember how little or big his head was..ha
Well I need to go get dressed for work, it is a chilly 21 here this morning! Brr but at least no snow, kinda am ready for a good one tho!
